'50s and '60s Bands Take Aim to Stop Copycats ... Rock 'n Roll Legends are asking lawmakers across the country to stop performances by some not-so-great pretenders and Pennsylvania agrees. Gov. Rendell signed the "Truth in Music" legislation in February, making Pa. the first state. In recent times, there has been a growing problem with imposter acts that have fooled audiences into believing they were the real deal. To be considered bona fide under the legislation, a band must include at least one member of the original recording group. Tribute bands would not be affected.
The new law would allow state attorneys general to stop an impostor band performance with an injunction and seek civil penalties against impostor bands and those who promote them.
"They undercut the legacy of those artists by pretending to be them," said Jon "Bowzer" Bauman, former singer with the nostalgia group Sha Na Na and head of the Truth in Music Committee of the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in Sharon, Pa.
Mary Wilson, an original member of the Supremes, says, "It really is a form of identity theft. They're taking our history. If you're a tribute band, then that's what you have to say."
The Vocal Group Hall of Fame Foundation operates a world class museum filled with over one hundred exhibits displaying vocal group memorabilia in a grand three story, 30,000 square foot museum. Please support them by visiting their website and become a member of the music that made our pop culture.

Looking for a Home? Use Your Computer ... Now, you can add Real Estate to the list of industries being forever changed by the Internet. Home listings - once printed in books available only to real estate agents - are now obtainable to anyone online, while accompanied by increasingly sophisticated photographs and virtual tours. A growing number of online services are popping up to help people do things like judge house prices, survey local neighborhoods and evaluate school districts, long before they ever do a drive-by. Real estate agents are finding the value of their service dropping, as people begin doing more legwork on their own over the Internet. Related Links:

How To put a Smile on a Soldiers' face ... Angel Ramsey, from a small town in Pennsylvania, has created a website which offers many opportunities to remember our troops overseas and put a smile on their face. "Most people do want to help our soldiers but just don't know how," says Mrs. Ramsey. "That's where my website comes in, I connect us with them." Although the site has been up and running for only about six months, she is in daily contact with over 600 soldiers, and the list is growing. Many of the troops have written to her to express their appreciation, as in the words of one soldier who simply said, "Thanks for not forgetting us!" The website is called troopcarepackage.com. Google Launches Interactive Map of Mars ... First there was Google Earth, then Google Moon. Now, Google has expanded its galactic reach by launching Google Mars, a Web browser-based mapping tool that gives users an up-close, interactive view of the Red Planet with the click of a mouse. Users can see the planet in three different formats plus zoom in view geographical features such as mountains, canyons, dunes and craters.
... and finally, there's this story...
All that hard work just goes for naught ...
The 62 million American families that heat their homes with natural gas have seen their gas bills go up 18 percent over last winter. Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon says a six-month investigation by four Midwestern states concluded that gas customers are paying $5 billion a month more than they should. State law-enforcement officials stated that the jump is due to price-gouging. "There is no question, the report concludes people are getting ripped off," Nixon says. The attorney generals who did the investigation however, are not filing any charges and are telling consumers they shouldn't look for a quick break or a rebate on their gas bills. Hmmm, but thanks anyway.

... A Modern Day Version of the Birds & Bees ....
A little boy goes to his father and asks, "Daddy, how was I born?"
The father answers:
"Well son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway!"
Your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo.
Then I set up a date via e-mail with your Mom.
We met at a cyber-cafe and sneaked into a secluded room.
There, your Mother agreed to a download from my hard drive.
As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit delete,
Nine months later a little Pop-Up appeared that said:
You got MALE.

Google to the Rescue
The online search engine leader Google can do so much more. For example:
Find a Definition
To see a definition for a word or phrase, simply type the word define, then a space, and then the word(s) you want defined. Google will find the definition as it has been used on the Web. For example, define networking
You can also get a list of definitions by including the special operator define: with no space between it and the term you want defined. For example, define:networking will show you a list of definitions for "networking" gathered from various online sources.
Google has a Calculator
To use it's built-in calculator function, simply enter the calculation you'd like done into the search box and hit Enter or click the Google Search button. The calculator can solve math problems for basic arithmetic, complicated math, units of measure and conversions. A few examples are: 30 centimeters in inches 5 kilometers in miles half a cup in teaspoons
See the instructions for more.
I'm Feeling Lucky
Users of Google, no doubt, are familiar with seeing the button, "I'm Feeling Lucky " next to the Search button, ... But ... Do you know what it means?
By clicking "I'm Feeling Lucky ", it takes you directly to the first web page Google finds for your query. You will not see the other search results at all, saving you time searching for web pages through the normal way of search. Try it, if you feel lucky.
Google has a sense of humor too. Enter "miserable failure" in the search box, then click on the, I'm Feeling Lucky.

Matters of the Heart DO, in fact, affect the heart ...
The most important factors for heart health are diet, exercise and avoiding tobacco. But now, people need to pay attention to their relationships, too. A new study shows that hardening of the coronary arteries is more likely in wives when their husbands express hostility during marital arguments, and more common in husbands when his spouse acts in a 'controlling manner'. For more information on the impact of stress on health, visit the National Mental Health Assoc.
