Paris Hilton likes her burgers spicy ... A Carl's Jr. commercial starring a scantily clad Paris Hilton may be too hot for TV. The Parents Television Council says the commercial is basically soft-core porn and inappropriate for television. The group plans to mobilize its more than one million members to protest and is also considering asking the FCC to declare it indecent. The commercial shows the hotel heiress frolicking about in a skimpy black bathing suit as she soaps and rinses a Bentley automobile and chomps on a Spicy BBQ Six Dollar Burger. The ad ends with her signature tag line — "that's hot," which doubles as a reference to the barbecue sauce and jalapenos-pepper laden sandwich. The company, Carl's Jr., is known for its racy television ads, an earlier one featured a woman eating a burger while slowly gyrating riding a mechanical bull. Brad Haley, marketing chief for Carl's Jr., said in a statement, "Paris was chosen to star in the ad because she is the 'it girl' of the moment and she also fascinates our most loyal customers, that being, 'young, hungry guys'. — (hard to argue with that logic)
The Burger War is growing... Literally (from 6 pounds to 15 pounds).Denny's Beer Barrel Pub, which (temporarily) lost its crown as the home of the world's biggest burger earlier this year, is now offering a new burger that weighs a whopping 15 pounds. Dubbed the Beer Barrel Belly Buster, the burger comes with 10.5 pounds of ground beef, 25 slices of cheese, a head of lettuce, three tomatoes, two onions, a cup-and-a-half each of mayonnaise, relish, ketchup, mustard and banana peppers - and a bun. It costs $30. "It can feed a family of 10," said Denny Liegey Sr., the restaurant's owner. Denny's Beer Barrel Pub had offered a 6-pound burger - with 5 pounds of toppings. In February, a 100-pound female college student, Kate Stelnick, of Princeton, N.J., became the first to eat the burger within the three-hour time limit. One month later, the Clinton Station Diner in Clinton, N.J., introduced a 12.5-pound burger dubbed Zeus. So Liegey responded, and the Belly Buster was born. Thus far, four men have taken the challenge, but couldn't get through the entire burger. They opted for doggie bags, instead. "It's a little too much for me to handle," said Steve Hepburn, of Clearfield. "It's like trying to eat half a cow." See more at Rex Features.
Don't Be Stranded by a Missed Auto Recall Notice! ... Typically, you are notified of recalls on your car in two ways, either a written notice mailed directly to the car owner or when the car is brought in for maintenance. Unfortunately, this system of notification is by no means foolproof. Owners are often left unaware that recalls exist on their cars, thus the defect goes unrepaired.
All manufacturers issue recalls on their vehicles at one time or another. Motorists need to take matters into their own hands by periodically checking for recalls themselves. Recall information is available at ALLDATA and the Edmunds Maintenance Guide. Dealer service departments will then make the necessary repairs free of charge and on a no-questions-asked basis. Additionally, you can call the dealership and ask a service advisor to run your vehicle identification number (VIN) through the computer system.
Another source for recall information is the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Search their site here. Recalls are not to be confused with technical service bulletins (also known as TSBs) that are issued by the manufacturer for less serious problems that affect the normal operation of the vehicle. TSBs cover known problems and provide repair instructions for service technicians and maintenance protocol. Search for TSBs that may apply to your vehicle at Edmunds, and search the NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation for Consumer Complaints and Technical Service Bulletins.

The first woman to win the Indy 500 ...... It could really happen. The 23-year-old rookie IRL driver, Danica Patrick, is the only woman in the 33-car lineup and only the fourth female to race in the big event at the Brickyard in its 89-year history. The former high-school cheerleader battles in a man's world with amazing success and shows the determination to become one of the nation's brightest sports stars. Only a bobble on the first lap of her qualifying effort kept her from winning the pole. The attractive, 5-foot-1, 100-pound woman drives the No. 16 Argent car for the Rahal Letterman Team and qualified 4th at the Brickyard 500.
Carrie Underwood is the 2005 'American Idol' Winner... After more than five million votes were tallied, the 22-year-old country girl from Checotah, Oklahoma defeated southern rocker Bo Bice, 29, of Helena, Ala., to win the 'American Idol' crown. Friends and family describe Carrie as a polite, quiet, small-town girl who is dedicated to music. Her mother, Carole, said she hoped her daughter's success won't change her. Carrie Underwood's first single, "Inside Your Heaven," drops June 14. Read her bio at the Idol on Fox website. Also see a fansite here.

... and finally, there's this story...
How long will you live? A simple test may offer the answer ... To help people realize their longevity potential, Dr. Thomas Perls, an expert on aging, developed the life expectancy health span calculator. It's a great tool to quickly assess what you are doing right and what you are doing wrong and to show where your biggest health risks are. The test is broken down into five sections ranging from family history to lifestyle habits. There are dozens of questions on everything from what's your cholesterol level, to how often do you floss your teeth. "It requires a fairly honest look at what your daily habits are," Dr. Perls says. Perhaps more important than the score, is the information you get when your life expectancy is calculated. A good score on the test is 88 and above. To try the test, go to the Living to 100 Web site.
J-O-K-E of the M-O-N-T-H
The husband and wife go to a counselor after 15 years of marriage.
The counselor asks them what the problem is and the wife goes into a tirade listing every problem they have ever had in the 15 years they've been married. She goes on and on and on.
Finally, the counselor gets up, goes around the desk, embraces the woman and kisses her passionately. The woman shuts up and sits quietly in a daze.
The counselor turns to the husband and says "that is what your wife needs at least three times a week. Can you do that?"
The husband thinks for a moment and replies, "Well, I can get her here Monday and Wednesday, but Friday I golf."

Save Space on your Hard Drive
By default, the Recycle Bin uses 10% of each drive/partition as a pit stop for deleted data before it gets permanently deleted. To adjust the amount of space the recycle bin uses:
-» Right click on the 'Recycle Bin' desktop icon,
-» then click Properties,
-» On the 'Global' tab, set the slider to about 5%. This value will be applied to all drives/partitions. If you wish to configure the drives or partitions independently, check the "Configure drives independently" box, and proceed to go to each drive tab to adjust each slider.
-»Once finished, hit Apply and OK. If you find that files are too large to go to the recycle bin, you will be prompted to either permanently delete, or cancel. If you don't want to permanently delete the file yet, hit cancel and go back and increase the size of the recycle bin.

Did You Know?
You get the best picture effect by watching TV in a dimly lit room (theaters are dark for a reason). Choose a picture mode such as 'movie' and avoid settings such as 'sports', which may increase the television's saturation, contrast, and brightness. See how to recalibrate your TV's picture settings for the best possible image quality in the May 2005 issue of PC World.
How To Read Suspect Mail Safely
Have you ever hesitated to open an e-mail because you were afraid something nasty might be lurking inside? Here's one way to read an Outlook Express message before opening it.
-» Right-click the message,
-» then select Properties,
-» click Details to read the message's header, which may give a clue as to its origin. If the header is too cryptic,
-» Click Message Source to read the message itself in a nonrunning mode (you'll see HTML code, but scroll down further to view the text of the message).
What is DRM protected?
When attempting to play certain media files, you may get a message pop-up about acquiring a license before being able to play it. That means that the file is DRM protected. DRM is Digital Rights Management (or restrictions management.) It's a controversial platform to protect and securely deliver content for playback. A copyright protection method designed to protect an author's right to control copying. You generally need to get (or buy) a license to be able to play the file. Opponents argue that DRM affects your private property rights (for example: by preventing the user from copying a song, even after purchasing it.) More Information on this subject of DRM is here.
