Journey's newest release "Generations" ... will be given to every paid ticket holder at the majority of their concerts this summer, including July 19 at the Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, PA. See the full Journey tour schedule. Journey's Escape album
here's some — Did you know? — trivia
Randy Jackson of American Idol fame, was a part of Journey in 1986.
Pictured at left is their "Escape" album, which was Journey's first and only of the Journey albums to go to No. 1 on the American charts. It was number one on the Billboard album charts for 100 weeks. From 1978 - 85, the lead singer for Journey, aka "The Voice", was Steve Perry. Today it's Steve Augeri. Related Links:

... About the Bryce Jordan Center ...
It has played host to many top names in the entertainment industry. The fastest sellout in the arena's history was Garth Brooks, who sold out five shows in April 1997. The BJC, with 16,000 seats, was built in 1996 at a cost of $55 million. Read more about its history. Penn State Nittany Lions Adjacent to the center is the Penn State University's 96,000 seat Beaver Stadium, home to college footballs' Nittany Lions and Joe Paterno.
( first game is Sept. 3.) See their 2005 schedule.

Fake Microsoft Patch Triggers Virus Attack... Virus writers are taking advantage of Microsoft's patching cycle to trick users into executing a malicious attachment. Their latest trick arrives via e-mail with an attachment that "purports" to be a cumulative patch for May 2005. The claim is that the executable file contains patches for vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express. The file is actually a virus called Pinfi, also known as Pate or Parite. Microsoft says, for those who have signed up for security communications from Microsoft, that they will never attach software updates to security e-mail notifications. If users are in doubt about the authenticity of a security e-mail notification, simply delete it and check the Microsoft Security site for the same information. Because the scam has become a monthly occurrence, Microsoft has provided a document titled, "How to Tell If a Microsoft Security-Related Message Is Genuine."

Are your home medications available to kids?... Kids have found that some of the easiest drugs to get their hands on are right in their own homes. They tend to believe that prescription meds are safer than illegal "street" drugs because they are prescribed by a doctor and FDA approved. How wrong they are! Prescription medications are invaluable and can save lives, BUT they can be deadly when abused. Rationalizations such as "nothing will happen to me" can have serious consequences. baby swimming The summer swimming season is here ... Swimming is a fun and healthy activity. However, swallowing, breathing, or having contact with contaminated water from swimming pools can spread illnesses. In fact, the number of outbreaks associated with swimming has increased over the past decade. Everyone has a responsibility to follow good public health practices, stay alert for unhealthy conditions, and report problems when they occur.

Did You Know?
A well-maintained pool has little odor. People often assume that they can't get sick from swimming in pools because chlorine kills all the germs in pool water. However, this assumption isn't completely correct. Although chlorine does kill germs, it has a few limitations. A heavy chemical odor is not from chlorine. Red eyes and itchy skin are usually caused by improper pH or high chloramine levels. If a pools' chlorine and pH levels aren't maintained properly, the chemical can't do its job. So it's crucial to test the water regularly and add chemicals when they're needed. Chlorine takes time to work, it doesn't kill all germs instantly. This Web site provides information for swimmers and home pool operators to improve the awareness about the spread of recreational water illnesses (RWIs). Learn more about RWIs.

Too much Sun can be Dangerous... Overexposure to the sun's ultraviolet radiation can cause immediate damage, such as sunburn, and long-term problems, such as skin cancer and cataracts. One type of skin cancer which occurs when one has been subjected to several intense short term overexposures is Melanoma.
Sunscreens are assigned a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) number according to their effectiveness in offering protection from UV rays. Higher numbers indicate more protection. As a rule of thumb, you should always use a sunscreen with at least SPF 15. For more information on UV Rays, Tanning vs. Burning and Questions & Answers on Sun Exposure, read this.

... and finally, there's this story...

Another one of those naked "fundraiser" calendars ... (woo hoo)
Seven women who usually gather on an afternoon to gossip and play cards are planning to strip down nude as a fundraiser for the 'Save the Courthouse Fund', as part of their fight against the citys' plans to tear down Randolph County's 128-year-old courthouse. No, it's not the housewives on Wisteria Lane, the calendars' models are all members of the Farmland Bridge Club in the western Randolph County town of Farmland, Indiana. Organizers hope the fundraiser will raise at least $20,000. The "Courthouse Girls" calendars sell for $12.95. More information at their website. Oh, and... did I mention their ages? They range from their early 70's to over 90, and yes, the women will be posing with strategically placed miniature replicas of the courthouse.

funny     J-O-K-E  of  the  M-O-N-T-Hjoke of the month

Here's three jokes sent in ... "obviously" ... by a woman:

Women will never be equal to men until they can walk down the street with a bald head and a beer gut, and still think they are attractive to the opposite sex.

At the cocktail party, one woman said to another, "Aren't you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong finger?" The other women replied, "Yes I am, because I married the wrong man."

A lady inserted an 'ad' in the classifieds: "Husband wanted." Next day she received a hundred letters. They all said the same thing: "You can have mine."

« Computer Tips: »

Defragment your hard drive:
Your hard drive doesn't always save a file in one place. Instead, it tucks parts of the file wherever there's free space. Use Disk Defragmenter on each of your drives to make those files contiguous, improving start-up and overall performance.
-» Select Start, then Programs,
-» Select Accessories,
-» Select System Tools,
-» Disk Defragmenter,
-» Select a drive, and click Start.

How does a Firewall help?
Firewalls help safeguard your computer by enforcing restrictions on incoming traffic. Firewalls can also help mask your computer's identity, so hackers' attempts to probe or scan your computer cannot return the type of information that makes it easy to invade. More information from Microsoft. However, if you are using Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), (the most updated version of Windows XP), you already have a firewall built-in and turned on by default. To learn more about the Windows Firewall that comes with Windows XP SP2, read this.

Did You Know?

Why Babe Ruth wore #3 ?

In 1932, it became a standard for all baseball teams to have numbers as a permanent part of the uniform, but in 1929, the New York Yankees were the first team to do it. The initial distribution of numbers on the Yankees that year was made according to the player's position in the batting order. Thus, in 1929, leadoff hitter Earle Combs wore #1,
Mark Koenig #2, Babe Ruth #3, Lou Gehrig #4, Bob Meusel #5, Tony Lazzeri #6, Leo Durocher #7, Johnny Grabowski #8, and Benny Bengough #9.

What does it mean?
Do you know what Advanced Streaming Format is? What about crop marks? Megapixel? Well, don't worry. Microsoft knows how dumb smart we are, so they've compiled the Windows XP Glossary.
It explains many concepts, products, TEKneeks, definitions and other user tools. If you don't have XP, use it anyway, I doubt it if they would know that .... but then again .... maybe look up that definition of smart cards.

Americans Prefer Hot Dogs
— Grilled —

According to new data
collected by the
National Hot Dog Council,
Sixty percent of Americans say they like their hot dogs grilled. America's hot dog makers will prepare about 7 billion hot dogs in anticipation of the demand between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Our second choice for cooking hot dogs is boiling, at 21 percent, followed by microwaving (eight percent), pan frying (four percent) and steaming (three percent).
— and —
How do we dress our dogs?

Other data collected by the Council earlier this year, shows the No. 1 topping for franks is mustard, which got 32 percent of the voting. Twenty-three percent of Americans said they preferred ketchup. Chili came in third at 17 percent, followed by relish (at 9 percent) and then onions (at 7 percent).
